Analysis of transport loads

We conducted an analysis to evaluate a structure subjected to loads arising during transport, such as horizontal acceleration and vertical acceleration while lifting the structure. In the computational model used in the analysis, the 16.5 tonne structure was to be lifted on three ropes and transported from one place to another.

The aim of the operation was to evaluate the degree of stresses and strains at the points of connecting the ropes. At the points where the elastic stresses exceeded the acceptable values, we checked the size and the area of plastic strain. Where plastic strain occurred at the crucial points of the structure, such as flanges, which would later prevent the machine from assembled, we suggested the acceptable values of acceleration force that the structure could be subjected to in order to minimise the area in which plastic strain occurred.
